On September 23, 2016 in Hyderabad, India, Open Health Systems Laboratory signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Pharmaceutical Export Promotion Council (Pharmexcil) of India. The MOU is designed to stimulate activities between OHSL and Pharmexcil in the area of expanding trade in pharmaceuticals between India and other global markets, particularly the United States. As one of the initial activities, OHSL will assist Pharmexcil in understanding the U.S. market, including meeting with key stakeholders in the United States.

This MOU was the result of an interaction in March 2016 when a Pharmexcil delegation that included Indian Commerce Ministry Joint Secretary Sudanshu Pandey and Drugs Controller-General of India G.N. Singh, met with OHSL leadership, as well as other players in the Washington, D.C. area. During this meeting, OHSL and Pharmexcil agreed to work together to provide critical information for Indian pharmaceutical companies about how to expand its presence in the United States.
